TECHBOX
Duration: 2021 | Role: Designer and

Techbox is a series of hackathons with guidebooks developed to encourage young BAME women and underrepresented folks to explore creative technology through the lens of social good. Using various tech tools combined with design thinking skills, accessibility and activism, Techbox was awarded a Creative Enterprise Award for Best Community Project from UAL and received mentorship to further develop this project.
We work with the participants to build an understanding of the tech tool through the lens of activism by using references from diverse designers and technologists. We also provide participants with an in-depth tutorial of various software and a guidebook to help with further exploration and experimentation.
Based on the length of the hackathon or workshop, we take them all the way from the design thinking and ideation, prototyping and delivery stage with constant guidance and a supportive environment where we encourage collaboration, not competition.
